Lecture 11: Radiometry & Photometry (51)

Why does the definition of reflection require it leave "without change in frequency." What about light that does what is described here (interacts with the surface such that it leaves on the same side), but with a change in frequency? Is there a different term for this? Or is this not possible?

I don't think light ever changes in frequency for reflection or refraction unless there is a change in the light source due to the conservation of energy
