How can we know the inverse function but not knowing the pdf? I am finding a hard time trying to think of a real-life example where we have the inverse function and the cdf but not the pdf.

someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think we do know the pdf, since we used it to calculate the cdf it is just that we had to use the cdf to perform the sampling part
