If you want to think ahead, how would you approach making this picture look less jagged with the same number of pixels? Think about the edges!

This is something that comes up a fair bit in photoshop when trying to remove backgrounds of low res photos. The solution is typically smoothing the edges by blurring, smoothing the color transition between the two sides of the edge. In a case of very few pixels like in this image, we could have intermediate softer-red colors along the edge, with the strength depending on what proportion of the pixel is inside the triangle, creating a softer edge.
