Yup, this is very confusing to keep track. I wonder if there is a need for them all and absolutely no way to simplify it.

Well theoritically we can simplify watts down to joules/sec and I guess for the photometry side we can really simply lumens down to candela but we can simplfy candela down even more. So yes, not not too much. I might be wrong though

Radiance/luminance takes the solid angle into consideration compared with irradiance/illuminance, thus the former contains the direction attributes.
