It's interesting how this definition of flux differs from what I typically think of flux as being in electromagnetism. I generally think of flux in the context of magnetic flux, which is a quantity related to the magnetic field strength over a certain area of influence (kind of similarly to pressure,) but here we use a definition of flux that's more similar to the concept of power in physics: energy per unit time.

Going through this whole section and learning about the physics behind light and energy, it's interesting to see how much physics is involved in computer graphics. In a sense, it is necessary since computer graphics involves a lot of simulations of the real world, such as how light bounces off objects. It's really fascinating to see how you can apply real-world physics to achieve a more realistic rendering.
