Is anyone able to explain what d omega is? I understand that omega is some direction vector, but what does d omega represent then? I would imagine it represents some small change in direction (which would be orthogonal to omega), but this isn't really reflected in the diagram. It seems like d omega is some kind of area on our hemisphere? I understand the general idea but I don't really understand the calculus with omega.
