Jade is a gemstone that encompasses two different minerals: jadeite (a silicate of sodium and aluminum) and nephrite (a silicate of calcium and magnesium). Jadeite is rarer and more valuable, highly prized for its vibrant green colors - especially emerald green - and translucency. Nephrite, on the other hand, is more commonly found and comes in a wider range of colors, including green, yellow, white, and black.
