I was wondering what gave the camera sensor its iridescence, and found that sensors are actually covered in an array of tiny color filters. By using these filters, sensors are able to capture not only the intensity of entering light but also its wavelength, which they can then convey as color. One of the types of color filter used are Bayer filters, which consist of squares with two green pixels, one red pixel, and one blue pixel. It’s interesting that Bayer filters use twice the amount of green pixels as they do for the other colors—I wonder if this produces a more appealingly colored image than if they used the colors in their normal ratio.

I've heard the term "global shutter" before and i'm curious to see what this means after learning about lenses. It seems like a completely different paradigm than using traditional shutters shown here
