Considering the Eulerian Formulation for fluids, since the fluid is commonly simulated through particles, I'm wondering whether can we use the density of a location (like how many fluid particles are in the locations) to restrict the movement of particles.

I also thought about mixing both techniques in a way that we first transfer the particle properties to grids, perform the updates on grids, and then distribute the update to the particles in each grid. I asked chatGPT and it shows me a topic called "Material Point Method".
