I thought this application of sampling was super interesting - usually I think of it in the sense of signal quality (i.e. sample a specific signal at higher or lower frequencies for information fidelity), but discretizing functions in the sense of dimensions or gaining different attributes of a graphic from the signal is an interesting way to think abt this
