I didn't quite understand the stackup of devices in the sensor. I get that (as on the following slides) there are several layers of metal to connect these photodiodes. However, the photodiodes themselves are made of some combination of insulators and conductors which presumably would be deposited/formed at the same time as these external metal sources. How does this process work?
