Something that I thought was very interesting to learn was how file formatting and compression exploits the human visual and perception system. Besides these three mentioned points, I wonder what other exploits these file formats utilize when it comes to human perception.

what I can think of is JPEG compression algorithms is such a great example of engineering that intesects with human physiology. Understanding the limitation of human perception can provide a solution for image storage and transmission which allows to balance the need for compression with our visual system's characteristics. I think it is a great exmaple of how fast-evolving tech can be driven by a deep understanding of human.
