If we are taking a 360 degree picture, one of the concerns I have is HOW in the world is this image going to be plastered onto a 2D base? It's like the similar idea with how to draw the globe onto a 2D paper: regardless of how you project a 3D object onto 2D, you will always have to deal with stretching and morphing, resulting in incorrect distances between certain objects in the image (the two objects in a photo might be made much larger, or much smaller than it actually is).
