I was interested in the stitching software behind 360 degree and 180 degree cameras so I read this article from Meta, https://creator.oculus.com/getting-started/getting-started-stitching/. I learned that most manufactures will provide some limited software but of course this won't always be the best, and there are some third part tools like Mistika that you can use. Most interestingly, cameras that shoot 180 degrees with fish eye lens don't need to be stitched at all, they just need to be de-warped.
