Wow, this look really cool! I wonder if the difference in the images is due to how Blender handles BTDF - bidirectional scattering distribution function - which is primarily concerned with transparent materials. However, AFAIK, BSDF = BTDF + BRDF, which it seems like you also implemented.

I'm really curious as to how you guys went about adding the liquid to this scene. Was it essentially just treated as a solid object but then you gave it a liquid appearance? Very cool nonetheless!
