Something I've noticed with my vision is that patterns like this (or like the grates on the steps down to the BART) seemingly make it much harder for me to focus/discern depth. I'm curious if this has to do with how we recognize patterns and potential aliasing in that (since there's research that suggests we can also natively perceive small texture patterns)
