Lecture 5: Texture (100)

Creating surface coordinates (sometimes also called UV unwrapping) is a pretty hard problem. Blender includes a number of options for customizing their algorithm for UV unwrapping: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/modeling/meshes/editing/uv.html#options. But even with these algorithms, artists often have to manually edit the generated texture coordinates themselves.

Adding on to rahulk29's comment, for those using Cinema4D for 3D modeling, there's also some links that can provide assistance with UV mapping and UV snapping. I believe Cinema4D's implementation is not straightforward, so for UV unwrapping specifically you should do it in different 3D software like Blender, but for anything else related to UV you may check the link below: https://www.maxon.net/en/cinema-4d/features/uvs.
