What is the intuition behind using the constants 4/3 and 4/5? I figured 4/3 might be because a triangle has 3 points and a square has 4 points, but I don’t really know what 4/5 means. If anyone could explain that’d be great.

I wonder if the quadric error matrix can be used here to measure how the mesh regularization is affecting the geometry. I feel like this is definitely doable, and I'm curious if there is a way to include this as another factor when regularizing the mesh. There could also be a way to add weights to how much you don't want the geometry to change and how much you want it to be regularized (this could also be a hyper parameter that could be optimized as well).
