Lecture 13: Global Illumination & Path Tracing (47)

I'm wondering why the patterns on the two balls are different, and the pattern on the left ball doesn't change much from the third bounce.


The left ball has a reflective surface (its a mirror ball) and the right one is a glass ball. This is why their appearance is difference and these materials have different interactions with light!


Really interesting to see the multiple levels of refraction/reflection, so that most of the lighting is concentrated and hits the bottom of the floor.
