The intuition for this would be that it needs more time to capture the light from the far away places, but at the same time needs the objects in the photo to remain more static otherwise it will miss those images easily.

@ochan1, how is it that it takes more time to capture light from far away objects? Isn't light always hitting the sensor at any moment, with the only difference being the light from far away object that's hitting the sensor at this moment is from a little longer ago in time?
