It is very interesting how things are often in curvature. I think it is also related to how human joints and muscles are structured so that in the example listed here, the finger and arm are moving in a circular motion centered from the arm joint. Such circular motion also adds introduces the corresponding acceleration rules in this motion. I am thinking that the centrifugal force and centripedal force may results in a physics-based motion system in this case:)
