It's pretty cool to learn about some of the diverse and interdisciplinary applications of VR. Especially in times like these, where classes/meetings are being held over zoom, it's interesting to think about the potential of VR in teleconference.

Could the future of remote work lie in the technology of VR? I think so. Other classes have used the Gather game to create showcases and classroom discussions and it has mostly worked. The downside though is that the end of a meeting is as easy as an off switch and no post-meeting discussions or offer to go to lunch afterward, so there are its downsides.

Poses, actions and expressions play important roles during conversations. It would be nice if VR can not only show corresponding field of views, but also detect and mimic these features of other attendants in the virtual video.

Adding on to the previous comment, detecting any facial expressions would be important in a realistic simulation for VR conferences like these, to be able to know who is currently speaking and to get a sense of participant reactions around the room.
