I wonder if point lights have any real world analog or if they are just an abstract impossibility.

@NicholasDrian Point sources are definitely just theoretic and cannot be realized in real life, as far as I know. But they are useful in representing larger objects in scenes, for example a lamp where light will radiate in all directions at the "point" from the lamp.
