Lecture 12: Monte Carlo Integration (12)

I think this concept is really interesting in that I feel like we've learned similar concepts in different classes but were never told it was Monte Carlo integration. I really enjoy the concept of being able to estimate an integral with samples.

I agree with Lucy's comment. A lot of times we learn to use samples to estimate a true function. Sometimes this is beneficial because we can give a confidence over how confident we are in our estimation based on how many times we sample. I think this allows for both fast and high variance rendering (maybe for low quality, but high fps games) and slow but more accurate rendering for things like art or static images that you load once.
