This vaguely reminds me of an interesting video I saw on random sampling - and specifically how if you're not careful it can be ambiguous what part of your sampling is meant to be uniform when you want "uniform" sampling. And it's 3b1b on Numpherphile, which is pretty sweet.

Obviously in this case it's explicit that what we want is uniform in area, but the relationship between that and how you sample can be nonobvious.
