The shallow depth of field effect on this image is really strong but very smooth. I know a close subject, large aperture (f/1.8), and a telephoto lens creates this effect. Are we going to learn more about the physics of this effect and changing it in our renderings? I read that Pixar models their renderings off of real cinema lenses.
