Concave lens would thus diverge light, unlike convex lens, which converge where the light passes through focal points, one on each side of the lens

Regarding the above comment, why would concave lens diverge light? What about the properties of convex and concave lenses create this effect? Not sure how out of scope this is for this class, but just curious!
