It is very interesting how the glass with microlenses is manufactured. Is that cut by laser of a diamond?

And the facet is also extremely smooth and specular.

It would be interesting to see the theory and math behind how the "ideal" microlenses spacing was sought out as we would want to balance having the ability to better collect light but also reduce the amount of side effects having lenses could cause
