Is there any connection between what's being shown here, and what light field cameras do in order to enable computational refocusing and changing viewpoints? From the Light Fields lecture, it seemed that light field cameras were basically taking many 2D pictures from different viewpoints (as opposed to just two of them). If so, are those types of cameras useful for capturing scenes in a format that can be viewed in VR?
