Good example of how keyframe interpolation can drastically change the look of an animation. Keyframe interpolation can be such a big deal in 2D and 3D animations that there are entire plugins developed to help you get them the way you'd like. In particular, I'm familiar with After Effects which has a whole world of plugins just for different types of keyframe easing. There are also plugins like EaseCopy which help you copy over your fine tuned interpolation to other keyframes. Personally i've found it to be a lifesaver at times!
