Lecture 18: Intro to Animation (28)

when working in 3d, do action lines/indications ever really go into 3d, or is it mostly just 2d elements placed into the scene? In my recollection, it seems like until very recently the concept of speed lines was all but ignored/unneeded in 3d films, until I think spiderverse, in exchange for motion blur.

I have a super basic understanding, but in blender or other similar applications, I believe action lines would still be there as you guide the 3D object frame by frame as one would do with 2D. The 3D objects are created and then rigged such that they can be manipulated frame by frame. One of my favorite 3d youtube channels is pwnisher. this is one of their more recent video compilations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgiRK8_iKdg. The usually provide the basic asset template used in the videos and also recommend tools if you want to play around with some 3d rigged objects. This video also does a good job at showing how to CGI from an irl reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mP-idHLydNQ !! The video goes over from setting up the environment to animating objects.

I am trying to understand how some of these animation principles are related. I think there is some connection between exaggeration and anticipation, anticipation is exaggeration before an action has occurred vs. during or after an action has occurred.
