This is a really cool robot because it's able to capture so much information with all the sensors and technology it's equipped with. To visualize this, it would be even cooler if there could be a 3D representation of the light field for visualization.

Similar to this there is research going into single-lens wide-field-of-view light field 4D cameras developed for DARPA's Soldier CENtric Imaging with Computational Cameras (SCENICC) program. Using a spherical lens and algorithms, it can generate a 138 degree field of view. While not quite 360, it is meant to improve navigation for autonomous driving and drone flight. With the light field information, the image now contains a lot more information such as light position and direction that allow the images to be refocused after capture and look past obstacles that could obscure vision.
