When I saw this lecture, I think it was really interesting yet unintuitive for me for the discrete display refresh to have the same perceptual effect as the continuous one. I would've expected it to be more jarring due to the lack of continuity in the curve. I wonder how it might be different in various dimensions, such as 3D, and whether than perceptual effect will remain the same.
