One thing to note is that not only do you have to adjust the intra-ocular distance on the headseet, but you also have to adjust the vertical centering of the lenses relative to your eyes by adjusting where on your head the headset sits. From what I've observed with the Rift, the intra-ocular distance adjustment helps more to lower the amount of horizontal blur, and the location of the headset on your face affects the amount of vertical blur you see.
