To what extent can this tracking system be stable enough to eventually move towards full body tracking? Is there a limit to how many lights you have?

Staffrishiu

I think full body tracking is still somewhat hard, as you would likely need either trackers like the ones on the headset all over the person body or much improved cameras and vision technology to track the full body.

Here's a video demonstrating full-body tracking using extra Vive trackers and how one can set up full-body tracking for personal use (e.g. in VR Chat).

Can you use recursive raytracing to accompany full body tracking/track where the body is? To reduce trackers needed all over the body.

It would add a lot to the immersive experience if full body tracking is made possible. Of course, one legit solution would be using more sensors/ trackers on different parts of the user's body. It could still be difficult because the movement of the human body could be very unpredictable and hard to interpret using some specific sensor data. I also think that the conventional use of one headset and two hand controllers might even be improved.
