Does the distance between the stereo cameras matter for different people? I figure that everyone has difference distances between their eyes, and their brains might be unaccustomed to using stereo images that have been captured with a different distance. I wonder if the stereo images feel not as real for people who have wider or shorter set eyes.

I've worked on something like this before in the past and very accurate synchronization is important when trying to take 3D video with a rig of many cameras (and I imagine here as well)

@dtseng, on the oculus rift, they have a feature where you can adjust the distance between the lenses so that you can find the sweet spot where its focused for you
