If it only detect IR, does that means it is also capable of capturing motions, not just the headset?

It seems that blocking the visible light spectrum makes it so there is less noise when trying to identify the tracking dots for motion capture. My main question is whether it is possible to build a sensor that excludes the visible light spectrum without the need for a filter
