It's interesting to see how much better the image looks after going from zero bounces of light to one bounce of light, but it's hard to notice the difference from eight bounces to to sixteen bounces unless you're looking really close at specific points (like the lights).
It's a tradeoff, because even though the computation is a lot heavier for more bounces, you start getting diminishing returns from doing these heavy computations.
