This is interesting, but I'm wondering if people also take into account the different types of hair that are seen amongst humans. With thick or thin hair, greasy or dry hair, frizzy hair, and curly hair, there are a lot of visual differences in human hair that would need to be accounted for in order to render graphics that look realistic and accurately capture the hair dynamics in different populations.

^ in addition to the above question, how does hair dye/bleached hair affect the rendering of realistic hair, if at all? I'm just curious because I imagine it could possibly change the pigment of the fiber or even how it scatters light.
