Lecture 22: Virtual Reality (42)

Would having an 8K display per eye be necessary? What is the cut off limit for resolution when you're that close to the screen to where you can't notice a difference anymore? Moreover, even if that is the future of the displays for VR, that makes it increasingly more difficult to deal with latency since we need incredible power for 8K displays, how would we deal with this? Moreover, the FoV is still slightly off from our actual FoV. Shouldn't we focus on those issues before just pushing out more resolution?

I agree with @aramk-hub's opinion, from the spec on HTC vive pro 2 and Quest 2, the field of view still seems to be a larger factor that prevents the current VR headsets from perfection compared to the resolution.
