I was not aware of the structured light transmitters necessary for the HTC Vive tracking system. This is a more intense solution than the single motion sensor required for the PS5 VR set. I wonder how this affects tracking/pose estimation accuracy.

With a lighthouse system like this it is far more accurate in tracking and pose estimation, especially with 3 lighthouse sensors; though inside-out tracking like the Oculus Quest has gotten so much better in the past few years. The Valve Index also uses a similar system to HTC's with their base stations.
