Lecture 14: Material Modeling (7)

Spoiler alert, but it does make sense that this is a reflective-like material, since some of the light is actually going INSIDE the material, similar to how reflective material usually acts similar to a mirror to the outside. In fact, speaking of which, I wonder how light is usually bounced off a mirror, or if most - if not all - of the light falls into the mirror (because otherwise, how else can the mirror reflect it's entire surrounding?).

If anyone's interested in the physics behind how a light ray reflects/refracts (Snell's law), here's a link to material from a physics class I took. https://phys.libretexts.org/Courses/University_of_California_Davis/UCD%3A_Physics_9B__Waves_Sound_Optics_Thermodynamics_and_Fluids/03%3A_Physical_Optics/3.06%3A_Reflection_Refraction_and_Dispersion

Reflection and refraction are considered in this material. Light not only reflected in the surface, but also refracted into another environment (e.g. from air to water)
