Lecture 21: Image Sensors (6)

I was thinking about this the other day. I'd like to learn how action cameras do image processing. Like how do they try to fix motion blur and take film in dark settings?

With action cameras (and basically anything that excepts rapid motion), it seems like a lot of them use a combination of OIS (optical image stabilization) and digital stabilization. OIS typically moves the sensor itself to compensate for vibrations, and digital stabilization is added on top of that (that functions by only using a portion of the image sensor and using the rest as a buffer).

I guess camera fix motion blur y shooting at high frame rates (e.g.60fps), action cameras can capture more frames within a given time, reducing the motion blur in each frame.

I wonder if there's other tricks that are used to keep these consumer cameras affordable while being performant and resilient in these diverse settings (sports, extreme weather, drone collisions, etc.)
