When trying to make a standard color space, what are the criteria to make a monitor standard? Would we be looking for one that is easily replicated or one that has the best accuracy

What goes into monitor calibration? Does calibration occur at the time of manufacturing to ensure that the display will be able to reproduce a specific set of colors, or is calibration more of a software/driver problem?

In rendering, raw color values from the render are often transformed nonlinearly to RGB values, to prevent blown-out whites due to sRGB clipping between 0 and 1; one way is with the "Filmic" color transform at http://www.maximeroz.com/filmic.
