Are each of the ellipses a group of metamers? Since they are perceived by humans as the same color, I believe they represent color spectrum that have the same projection in S M L space.

I feel like it's possible that they are metamers, but also possible that the difference is there but just too small for humans to distinguish. I feel like the distinction is important.
