Is this supposed to also account for photos taken outside the sphere, or do we just make a sphere large enough to account for all photos that we'd want to take at a maximum distance?

Is there a maximum possible dimensionality for light fields? It looks like the light field is parameterized by the degrees of freedom of the lamp and camera and object, so would a maximum dimension light field be something like 18D?
