In the figure, L_i(x, wi) is represented by a hole with a certain surface area. Does it represent a collection of rays or just a single ray? If they represent a collection of rays, this equation would only be valid when the radiance is consistent across all the incoming rays. Otherwise, we also have to integrate over that region. Is my understanding correct?
