I am so confused. Can anyone explain why a shallow depth of field can create a stronger image?

In this context, Stronger Image means the image's focus or main point comes across more easily, and when we have a shallow depth of field - the flower (the main focus of the image) is unobstructed by the background or less cluttered by the other flowers in the background.
