I was Today Years Old when I correlated "aliasing" from the term "anti-aliasing" to the definition of an Alias. (edit: I've been tweaking graphics' settings on PC games since I was a child. I never understood the AA phrase)

Another alias would be one with an even higher frequency since a wave is always indistinguishable from a higher-frequency signal (imagine drawing a curve that crosses through every sampled point but with much more zig-zags)
