The fact that you need to generate animation for each character for every single action they make in the movie makes you come to appreciate the scale of animation movies. I use to complain, both internally and externally, about how long it would take to make Disney/Pixar movies when I was younger, but now it's pretty amazing how often they release films (even more frequently nowadays!).

I thought the same. I also couldn't understand why movies could look so smooth and together while video games made around the same time looked so choppy. After this class, I understand the key difference is in time to render. The idea that some huge chunk of making these movies is simply waiting for scenes to render is a little mind boggling.
